Rain Barrel Workshop & Residential Gardening


There is more to your home than a manicured lawn.  Learn about native Alabama plants and flowers that require less maintenance and can provide year round beauty to your yard and home.

Stormwater runoff can affect your property. Learn how to manage it in a way that can save you money and reduce erosion.

Attendees will learn about the problems associated with stormwater runoff, ways to conserve water in their homes, and watershed friendly landscaping techniques. The workshop will also cover the basics of how to construct, install and maintain a rain barrel.  After the workshop, participants will have a chance to win one of three rain barrels to take home.
