The City of Pelham is accepting applications and resumes for the full time position of Building and Zoning Official. This position leads the city in activities of inspecting new and existing buildings and structures to ensure conformance to building, grading, and zoning laws and approved plans, specifications, and standards by performing the following duties:

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four year university and/ or at least five years related experience or equivalent credentials.
Must have a valid Alabama Driver’s License, Certified Building Official Certification; Certified Building Inspector Certification; and Planning and Zoning Certification. Other certifications may be required after employment.
Construction experience and knowledge of the State of Alabama Code Title 11 as well as familiarity with construction industry operations preferred.
One to three years supervisory experience preferred with organization skills, assigning and directing work, performance reviews and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Compensation is $79,194 - $100,320, depending on experience, education, and other training. The City of Pelham offers an excellent benefits package.
