Job Opportunity - Ballantrae Golf Club

The City of Pelham is currently accepting applications for the position of Membership/Accounting at Ballantrae Golf Club. This position is responsible for all Ballantrae golf membership accounts; oversees the finance and accounting processes and documentation for the Ballantrae Golf Club before being sent to the Corporate Finance Department for further processing.  This position must be able work hours on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Following are some of the duties of this position.  A full job description is available upon request:

  • Handle all membership sales.  Sets up and maintains accounts according to contract. Processes member billing.  Collection of delinquent account balances. 
  • Establishes cash handling processes for opening and closing of shifts.  Reviews and audits daily transactions from Golf transactions, as well as Food and Beverage. Balances daily.  Prepares daily deposits and forwards to Finance Department.  Analyzes data to check for fraud and compliance of procedures.  
  • Audits, Codes and approves invoices.  Forward to GM and Finance Department for further review, approval, and processing.  Monitors accounts payable and receivable to ensure that payments are up to date. Reviews, balances, and interprets computer reports, and makes corrections.  Prepare and assist with annual budget.
  • Negotiates maintenance contracts for HVAC, Elevator, Janitorial, and office equipment.  Schedules repairs and maintenance.
  • Assists employees, vendors, clients, or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services.  Work in other areas of the clubhouse as needed.

Position Requirements:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.  Higher level of education preferred.  Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, ability to read a general ledger and income statement required, four to five years related experience and/or training required. 

Salary and benefits beginning at $45,681 + based on qualifications and experience.
